LUBBOCK, Texas - The Red Raiders slipped six spots to No. 9 and the Lady Raiders fell one spot to No. 11 in week four of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country computer poll released Tuesday morning.
Both squads are coming off of an impressive performance at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., where five athletes recorded personal-best marks. Texas Tech is now preparing to compete at the historic Penn. Relays set to be held this weekend in Philadelphia.
The Red Raiders have been ranked in the top 10 throughout the entirety of the 2012 outdoor season.
Texas Tech enters the Penn. Relays with 15 athletes ranked in the top 20 of the national outdoor performance list. The men's 4x100 relay squad comprised of Gil Roberts, Markus Henderson, Shane Brathwaite and Isaiah Gill ranks No. 7 nationally with a season-best time of 39.23. Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders' 4x100 relay comprised of Terra Evans, Erica Alexander, Candace Jackson and Olivia Lewis ranks No. 13 nationally with a season-best time of 44.01.
Texas Tech will return home May 5 to compete in the Red Raider Open at the Fuller Track and Field Complex.
