Today was a very, very successful day for the Tech softball and baseball teams. Texas Tech baseball faced the La Salle Explorers and beat them 7-0 to win the series, and the Lady Raiders face Northern Colorado and won in amazing fashion.
2,419 fans packed into Dan Law Field to watch Tech in the rubber match game v.s. the La Salle Explorers. With the 7-0 win today Tech has officially set a new school record in shutting out it's first 4 of 7 at home.
Tech gave up 6 hits, but strong play in the infield, outfield, and pitching helped Tech keep the goose egg on the scoreboard. Tech's biggest inning's were the 3rd, 4th, and 8th with two run's in each inning.
Tech will head back out onto the road this week for a mid-week series v.s. defending national champion Arizona in Tuscon at Hi Corban Field.
Lexie Elkins is the hero for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders today as she hit a walk off double and propelled Tech to a 8-7 win over the Northern Colorado Bear's. After the win Tech's record now is 13-7 and this record has had some very impressive wins, and some very bad losses.
The win today snapped a two game skid in which the Lady Raiders lost both game's yesterday in surprising fashion. This was the first walk of victory for the softball program since last year when Tech walked off on Baylor to beat them 6-5.
The Lady Raiders will continue their home stand of 12 games in a classic hosted by Tech that features UMKC, IPFW, Troy, and UT Arlington. The four day event will begin this Friday.
Until then, Guns Up!
